Clubs and Societies

A wealth of weekly clubs and societies enable girls to extend their knowledge in favourite subject areas. These activities are run by Subject Teachers, Sixth Formers and a range of external specialists. They are complemented by a wide array of opportunities for girls to discover or develop their talents in the arts, music and sport; please see our separate extra-curricular section for details.

Weekly clubs and societies in 2015 included: Art, Chess, Greek Club, Current Affairs, Physics Society, Classics Society, History Live, Green Team, Debating, Economics, Mock Trial, Chemistry, Creative Writing, Beginners’ Sanskrit, German Club, Programming, Biology Society, English Extension, Cryptic Crosswords, Politics Society, Robotics, French Debating, History Society, Animation, Gardening, Computing, Japanese, Film Skool, Christian Union, DT Club, Book Club.

In addition to weekly activities, enrichment days are designed to endorse the holistic values we are keen to promote. Some of the activities which run in school are cross-curricular, encouraging the girls to make links between subject areas and broaden their knowledge and understanding. Others enable girls to delve more deeply into specific subject areas. Sessions are led by external specialists, HBS teachers and Sixth Formers. In-school activities are supplemented by a range of educational trips and workshops.
