HBS were told that we were one of only four schools in the country to achieve ‘outstanding’ in every one of the 21 inspection categories. Hosting today’s celebration, Ofsted’s Chief Inspector recognised the determination, ambition and commitment it takes to become an outstanding school.
Addressing 300 Head teachers in London, the Chief Inspector said:
"I wholeheartedly congratulate the Head teachers, staff, governors and students of all outstanding schools on their success and hard work in delivering such an excellent standard of education. Outstanding schools have leaders of vision, courage and conviction, and the ability to create and inspire their staff, their students and the communities they serve. I hope that these outstanding schools are a beacon to others; an example of what can be achieved with aspiration and determination.”
Head teacher Mr Oliver Blond of The Henrietta Barnett School said:
“The school is very pleased to gain this Ofsted recognition which is a reflection of the dedication and hard work of everyone involved with the school from the pupils, teachers, Governors, parents to the local community and our partnership schools.
“We are very happy to celebrate the pupils’ educational success as everyone strives so hard to provide the best possible support and opportunities for them in such a variety of ways. The school’s achievements are a result not only of everyone’s commitment and shared purpose but of the belief that education is about much more than passing exams.
“We are convinced that the best education involves pupils learning far beyond the limits imposed by examinations, getting involved in as many different activities, trips and visits as they can and ensuring that they maintain their sense of excitement, curiosity and love of learning.”
