The Magic of the Musicals
Huge congratulations to all those involved in this wonderful production! It was extremely impressive in every way and showcased the incredible talent throughout the school: the singing, dancing, acting, technical input, stage management, choreography, casting… and I could go on! It was an absolute feast of unadulterated joy from beginning to end! A big thank you Miss Heddle for her input behind the scenes, a huge well done and thank you to Mr Cain for his exceptional technical expertise, sound, lighting, set and production (not to mention voiceover!), and massive congratulations to Director, Miss Clarke, who achieves something truly extraordinary year after year. Easily as good as any trip to a West End Theatre! Well done, everybody!
From the cast:
Nuha Ahmed, Year 9: The experience has taught me the importance of being a team player, how the ensemble is just as important as the leading roles and most importantly, it has just been so much fun!
Rose Lovejoy, Year 11: This has been a breath of fresh air; truly the epitome of school spirit with all of us contributing to the final product, a wonderful experience for all involved.
Emefa Tevie, Year 13: Since Year 7 I have participated in the school show every year because I find it to be one of the most genuinely rewarding activities available - forming bonds across year groups and for me, the highlight of each school year - definitely what I will miss most about HBS once I've left.
From the audience:
WOW!!! The show was really incredible last night - every one of the girls performed with such confidence, poise and terrific energy! The audience were "blown away". A very special experience for all.
I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed the show last night! It was phenomenally good. Wit, inventiveness, pin-sharp casting and attention to detail. It’s a 5***** review from me!
WOW!! That was AMAZING. The choreography was just stunning. I just loved it all. Very uplifting, the girls clearly had a ball!
From Miss Clarke:
Many congratulations and thanks to our outgoing Year 13 cast and crew for their excellent contributions over seven years at HBS. They are a vibrant group of really talented students who have stepped up to take on leadership roles this term so impressively: Garance Zinzen, Emefa Tevie, Sofia Bassani, Omolara Kolade, Imogen Farr, Violet Mermelstein,
Malavika Bangera, Taryn Fang, Jade Kwaku, Sophia Koumis
A huge thank you and well done to every student involved for being quite simply, brilliant.
Thank you to Mr Cain for playing a huge role in many aspects of the show, to old HBS student Eliza Mahoney for helping with some of the choreography before going off to Cambridge University in September and Miss Heddle for supervising the students backstage over the last couple of weeks.
Thank you to the 650 audience members for the support this week, to all staff/parents who helped with FOH/refreshments and it was also great to see large numbers of old HBS students who travelled back from Cambridge to see the performance.
Finally, huge thanks to parents of all cast and crew members for the excellent support.
