New Books in the Library

Library Project

Following a recent article about the library’s Amazon wish-lists, there was a huge and incredibly generous response that has greatly enhanced our fiction and non-fiction collections. Two major donations have included a collection of young adult fiction that was almost immediately snapped up by students (almost before they were ready to be issued), and another donation of non-fiction books from the longlist and shortlist of the Baillie Gifford prize! The library has also been privileged to receive a major donation of hardback literary classics from former HBS Head of Science that will provide enjoyment for years to come! We would like to thank everyone who has donated so far and also let everyone know that both parents and students can donate direct to the library, as well as via the Amazon wish-lists. We accept good quality (unmarked) second hand editions of titles across the board. To arrange a drop-off, please email csexton@hbschool.org.uk in the first instance. Finally, the library has created a ‘book suggestion box’ which students and staff can use to suggest titles that the library hasn’t got, and might want to add to the appropriate wish-list. Students should ask at the library desk for more details. As a quick reminder, the Amazon wish-lists are here:

We have also created an Essential library supplies wish-list which includes essential equipment and stationary which the library needs to process and take care of our new donations: https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/6RSNSEQIMXTG?&sort=default
We are very grateful to all our donors and supporters as we seek to update our library collections in 2018.
