Period Poverty Campaign: City Hall event in London and Facebook event in America!
Last week I was lucky enough to have been invited to speak on a panel at Facebook’s Global Safety Summit in Washington DC. It was a really inspiring and exciting event, as I had the chance to hear about all the latest technological innovations, and meet CEOs of Facebook and other tech companies which are currently shaping our world. I spoke on a panel with 4 other girls, from across the globe, about both the negative aspects of social media on young people, and how it can be used for social action and mobilisation. The whole experience was truly memorable.
Last Thursday, to celebrate International Women’s Day, I had the privilege of speaking at City Hall for the Mayor of London’s #PressForProgress event. We got to hear from so many exceptional women doing amazing things, in all different fields, including the Olympian Asha Philip, Director of the Museum of London Sharon Ament, and Dany Cotton QFSM, Commissioner of the London Fire Brigade.
