Library Project

Review Competition Winner! Before Easter the library ran a competition for the best review of one of our featured BookTrust books for year 7-9s. We received a batch of lovely, inventive and imaginative entries but the best overall winner was a review of Jenny McLachlan’s ‘Stargazing for beginners’ by Suhani Ahuja (Year 8.1). Her review was colourful, creative and employed a variety of mediums and materials to transmit her positive, upbeat message about the book; which she obviously enjoyed greatly. I’d like to thank Suhani, and all the other entrants for their contributions to the competition. Suhani’s review will be displayed in the library, and she wins a special book prize and a box of chocolates!

Preparing for the Future : Career Resources The library has been updating its careers section and removing out of date prospectuses and books. Prospectuses for 2019/20 are now being sent to us and have also been moved to a more suitable site near one of the main entrances. Newer editions of nearly all the careers books we have are available commercially, and we would like to request that parents (especially with students entering Year 12 or 13 this year), kindly consider purchasing one of these titles for us. There is now a dedicated HBS Careers wish-list here

A plea to Year 13: Please find and return all your library books before you leave. C Sexton
