Solo Speaking Competitions

Solo Speaking Competition

Congratulations to the winners for the form solo speaking competitions in Key Stage 3, who all gave outstanding speeches in assemblies to their respective year groups. Year 9: Gaia Dratwinska (“My Name”), Aatharshaa Viyaijen (“Why we should take cheating in school more seriously”), Angelette Mendonca (“Public Toilets”) and Allie Gruber (“Why we should abolish the monarchy”) – winner. Year 8: Anna Herbert (“Sports Gender Pay Gap”), Anai Ganatra (“Life Sentences should mean life”), Aashi Shah (“Welcome to society”) and Harishitaa Sendhilkumar (“Smiling”) – winner. Year 7: Sanjana Bandaru (“Depression”), Harini Sivakumar (“Opinions”), Manasa Venkatesh (“No Offence!”) and Sukriti Bisht (“Embarrassing Dads”) – winner. They were all immensely impressive and it was terribly difficult to pick an overall winner for each year group. They had all memorised their speeches and they held the audience enrapt with their humour, timing and wonderful mix of light-hearted comment and serious message. Well done to all and thank you to Mrs Garth for organising it.
