Middlesex Schools U12 and U13 Netball: On 14th March the Under 12 and Under 13 Netball Teams travelled to Highgate School for the annual Middlesex Netball Tournament. There were over twenty schools involved. It was fantastic to see so many girls participating in an afternoon of sport, with over one hundred girls taking part. Both our teams played extremely well and finished the tournament with four wins and a draw for the U13s, and 3 wins for the U12s in a pool of 8 teams. The tournament allowed both teams the opportunity to put the skills they had developed all season into practice and was a successful end to the 2016-17 netball season. Congratulations to all girls who participated, players of the tournament were Sofia Choteborska (Under 12) and Navika Singh (Under 13).

Middlesex Schools U15 Netball Results: On Saturday 11th March the U15 netball team took part in the Middlesex County Finals after qualifying back in November last year. After some hard fought matches with all the girls playing extremely well, the team achieved a good set of results finishing in fourth place, narrowly missing out on a bronze medal on goal count back.

Year 9 Basketball League Results: Congratulations to our Year 9 Basketball team who are still undefeated in the league after winning the gold medals in the South side of the Barnet Borough Basketball tournament. The girls now progress on to compete against the winners of the North side to see who will become the overall Borough champions.

Year 8 A team Netball Tournament: Our Year 8 B team represented us in the A team Barnet Borough netball tournament this week as the A team were at the Middlesex finals. They played well, winning one match (The Compton School 2 - 0) and losing two (Archer Academy 3 - 0 and St Michael's 2 – 0). Girl of the tournament was Dhurcka Parthipan and the captains were Eira & Kinnary.

London Youth Games Volleyball: The Year 10 Volleyball team represented Barnet at the London Youth Games last week after qualifying back in November. The side had a titanic struggle with Wandsworth in the semi-finals of Europe’s largest annual youth sports event at The University of East London losing 17-18 and had to settle for a bronze medal clash with Richmond. The team faced another tough match, this time over coming Richmond and gaining the bronze. The girls did a really good job and we are so proud of them. Getting through to the semi-finals was the biggest challenge because we knew Wandsworth were going to be really tough opponents, but we stood tall and came away with a medal. This is a huge achievement and means that Barnet came 3rd of the all the 33 boroughs for Volleyball. A truly outstanding performance - well done to all players!

Parents & Sisters’ Netball: The glorious weather ensured a big turnout at our annual fundraiser. The standard of netball gets higher each year. We had a number of mums playing with and against their daughters, and for some of the time during the sisters’ match we had each pair of siblings marking each other. The atmosphere was great and our cake sale raised just under £100 to go towards netball equipment. Thank you to everyone involved.
