Classics Society welcomes Professor Chris Carey, Emeritus Professor of Greek at UCL

On Monday 2nd October, Classics Society was lucky enough to host guest speaker Prof. Chris Carey, Emeritus professor of Greek at UCL. He talked to us about humane and heroic values in Homer's Iliad and discussed personal responsibility versus responsibility to the community within the epic, focusing particularly on Achilles and Hektor. It was an interesting talk particularly for Year 13 Classical Civilisation students and those of us studying GCSE Greek. Savinay Sood 11G
