HBS Parents' Association Film Night with Producer Joe Oppenheimer
The HBS Parents' Association are delighted to present a film evening on Saturday 11th November at 6.45pm featuring a screening of 'The First Grader' produced by HBS dad and film producer Joe Oppenheimer followed by a talk and Q&A session with Joe, where he will provide a glimpse behind the scenes of the making of the film and answer questions on his work and building a career in movies.
'The First Grader' is the true story of an 84 year-old Kenyan villager and ex Mau Mau veteran who fights for his right to go to school for the first time to get the education he could never afford. Joe was the executive producer of this inspirational and charming film. Tickets are on sale in the shop on ParentMail. The event will take place at HBS and there will be food and drink available to purchase.
We are hoping to see lots of parents, family and friends at this, our first fundraising event of the year. The evening is a must for any budding writers, directors and filmmakers and this will be an opportunity not only to see a wonderful film but also to get a fascinating insight in to its production. The First Grader is suitable for secondary school aged children and, of course, their parents!
The evening will start at 6.45pm with the brief Parents' Association AGM, which will move swiftly into the film itself. All money raised will go directly to the school and we very much look forward to seeing you on the 11th November. If you have any queries about the film night or the AGM please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
