The Sunday Times State School of the Year

The award is given to an outstanding school in all respects, not just because of academic achievement, and reflects the all round excellence we strive for at the school.

We are very proud of the girls and staff, past and present, and of being recognised in this way almost exactly 100 years after Henrietta Barnett founded the school.

"This all-girls school is one of the best advertisements for single sex education that you could find. It has topped our state secondary schools' performance table for three years in a row, this year by an outrageously wide margin.

Fewer than 10 independent schools can better Henrietta Barnett's achievement of 45.2% of all A-levels taken this summer returning A* grades. No other state school comes close.

The collective will to succeed among students and staff and the enthusiastic pursuit of knowledge at all ages and levels mark Henrietta Barnett out as exceptional, fully justifying its status as one of the most keenly sought after schools in Britain."
