National Recognition for The Henrietta Barnett School in League Tables:
The Henrietta Barnett School is delighted that the energies and commitment of our students, and the dedication of our staff have been nationally recognised and celebrated through the Sunday Times Parent Power Guide 2025 with awards for State Secondary School of the Year for Academic Excellence 2025 and three other awards. http://thetimes.com/best-schools-league-table We are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements, which is just one part of what makes our school such a special place.
Our school nurtures the whole person. We strive to create an inspiring and enriching environment where girls can grow not only academically but personally, cognitively and socially. Through excellent teaching and learning, which encourages girls to challenge themselves beyond the confines of exam specifications; a meaningful and bespoke personal development programme and extensive co-curricular and student leadership opportunities, we prepare students to thrive in all aspects of their lives. Our students are enfranchised to break stereotypes about what girls can and cannot do; we are proud of our rich tradition of so many students taking up fields in which girls have historically been underrepresented such as science, technology, entrepreneurship, leadership.
We also defy preconceived ideas about grammar schools. From magnificent performances to robotics to conferences about AI, we are innovative, not old-fashioned. Our broad curriculum, which includes traditional classical subjects, and a full range of languages and humanities alongside STEM subjects, enables students to develop rigorous thinking skills and creativity, and to perceive connections and cultural relevance.
Equally, whilst we are academically selective, we are committed to ensuring that our education is accessible and welcoming to all students, regardless of financial or social background, and we are always keen to encourage students from disadvantaged backgrounds to see that Henrietta Barnett can be a place for them to flourish. Through outreach, support and fostering a culture of inclusivity, we aim to give every student the tools and opportunities they need to succeed not only at school but beyond it, in all areas of life.
As we celebrate this achievement, we also recognise the challenges ahead. Maintaining the exceptional standards which have brought us here requires continued investment in resources, facilities and support for our staff and students. We hope to work with all stakeholders to ensure that future generations of Henrietta Barnett students can benefit from the same high-quality education which has led to this year’s achievement.
