The students were excited to come back after the summer holidays and see the school environment transformed by the addition of artworks to Bigwood and the Main Building. The pictures are all by HBS students and were completed during their art studies either at Key Stage 3 or during GCSE and A level.
An exciting range of materials and techniques are on display, including photography, painting, printmaking, and textile work. This represents the excellent resources available to students in the Art Department. It is very inspiring for the younger students, as they go aout their school day, to see what they can achieve when following their creative passions.
Research shows that the environment of a school impacts student well-being and academic performance. Therefore, it is a great benefit to the students to have our wonderful buildings enhanced further by the new and existing artworks, in addition to the inspiring departmental displays.
Thank you to Mrs MacLeod for giving careful thought and direction to where the pictures should be hung. Thank you to Mr Cain and the site team for putting all the pictures up during the holidays.
