Annual Macmillan Coffee Morning and Bake Sale

By Milly B (Year 13) and Ms Sack

On Friday 26th September, HBS came together for the annual Macmillan Bake Sale organised by Ms Sack, which was, as ever, an enormous success. With the tables laden with delicious homemade bakes, huge numbers of students and staff turned out to show their support for a very worthy cause. Macmillan Cancer Support provides vital services for those affected by cancer and their families, offering emotional support, advice, and practical help.  A panel of three teachers had the difficult task of judging the best-tasting and best-decorated treats, with over thirty entries across both charities. We are thrilled to announce that we raised a whopping £929.11 for this amazing cause, and we are delighted to share with you this year’s winners:

Best tasting:

1- Caris C 13G

2- Nehrin A 7H

3- Melissa V 11M

Best decorated:

1- Kishomi S 12A

2- Estelle M 7H

3- Aghshara K 10W and Monika J 12C

Congratulations to our Star Bakers! Prizes will be awarded soon. And well done to 8H, who won the prize for best decorated stall!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who got involved: parents/carers from home with donations, and everyone in school who participated, whether by baking, buying, or showing up to support their form and help run a stall. A special thanks to our wonderful panel of teacher judges with Mrs MacLeod, Mr Graff and Mr Harbord, and to the Head Prefect Team (Milly, Shaina, Tanisha and Aria) and the Lead Senior and Senior Prefects for all their hard work in organising and making the event run so smoothly. Together, we made a real difference. We can’t wait for next year!
