As the festive season unfolded, our volunteer group once again stepped into its busiest and most heart-warming time of year. With energy, generosity, and a touch of seasonal sparkle, volunteers supported a range of community events and spread a little cheer. Across every activity, the theme of community shone through. The volunteers’ contributions helped create moments of connection at a time of year when it matters most. From festive teas to tech help and handcrafted wreaths, their efforts brightened the season for many.

A Festive Tea to Remember
One of the highlights of the season was lending a hand at the U3A’s annual festive tea. Volunteers helped prepare the hall, decorate tables, deliver countless cups of tea, and serve a ton of homemade treats. The atmosphere was full of conversation and festive spirit; well done volunteers for your efforts.
Tech Support with a Seasonal Twist
Our regular “Tea and Tech” sessions took on a festive flair as well. Volunteers helped community members navigate phones, tablets, laptops, and all things digital, offering guidance wrapped in patience.
Hedge Hackers Turns its Hand to Festive Wreath Making
The final Hedge Hackers session of the year also embraced the season with creativity and sustainability. After months of tending local green spaces, the team used greenery, sprigs of pine, ivy, rosemary and other natural trimmings, to craft festive wreaths. It was not only a celebration of the year’s gardening efforts but also a reminder of the beauty that can come from reusing and upcycling what nature provides.
Thank you for all your time!
