Entrepreneurship Club

This year, six fantastic teams competed in our Entrepreneurship Club competition, each presenting an innovative and carefully developed idea.

Protectix designed a new home safety device; Knit and Co created a blind box experience featuring handmade scrunchies; Blend and Bloom developed a scientifically backed aromatherapy device to improve focus while studying; Scenti Beads designed an all-in-one hiking bracelet with insect repellent, a torch and additional safety features; Luxury Stitches created transformable clothing that shifts from short to long sleeves in seconds; and Glow Up designed glow-in-the-dark jewelry targeting pressure points to promote calm. The standard in the preliminary round was exceptionally high, leading Mrs Leek to kindly judge alongside the Sixth Form leadership team.

After careful deliberation, Knit and Co, Protectix and Blend and Bloom progressed to the final, where they refined their ideas even further. We were delighted to welcome external entrepreneurs Michael Martin and Seema Rampersad from the British Library Business & IP Centre, who were highly impressed by the creativity, research and professionalism demonstrated. Following thoughtful discussion, Blend and Bloom were selected as this year’s winners. It was a truly inspiring event, and we are incredibly proud of every student who took part.

Nazli A, Year 12

The Y12 leadership team deserve a huge well done –  Nazli A, Merlin M, Patricia W and Amaya A. This is a club they set up in Year 10 and have led each year – teaching about entrepreneurship and all different aspects of enterprise in an extremely thorough and structured way, culminating in a competition for the teams to present their ‘companies’ (including details such as production plans and costings, marketing plans and research into the market and competitors). It’s been a huge commitment on their part and they’ve been so organised and thorough; each year they’ve held a final with external judges who are themselves entrepreneurs and who could not have been more complimentary about the standard of the student presentations and the performance and professionalism of the leaders.
