The Mathematical Olympiad for Girls 2025 (MOG2025) has once again showcased the extraordinary talent and dedication of our young mathematicians. This prestigious competition aims to encourage and inspire female students in mathematics, fostering problem-solving skills and creative thinking.
We are thrilled to congratulate three outstanding Year 13 students—Jessica Z, Namya A and Tanishka P—on their remarkable achievement of being invited to participate in the British Mathematical Olympiad Round 1 (BMO1). Only the top 10% of high achievers in the MOG are invited to take part in the BMO1, a highly challenging national competition that serves as the first step towards the UK’s International Mathematical Olympiad team selection. It tests deep mathematical insight and problem-solving ability, pushing students to their intellectual limits.
Special recognition goes to Jessica and Namya, who were awarded Book Prizes—an honour given to only the top 5% of the highest scorers in the MOG. Jessica’s accomplishment is particularly noteworthy, as she achieved a perfect score of 50/50 in the MOG2025—a testament to her exceptional skill and hard work.
We wish Jessica, Namya, and Tanishka the best of luck as they take on the BMO1 challenge and continue to pursue excellence in mathematics.
A Noteworthy Achievement by a Year 11 Student
Among the outstanding performances in MOG2025, special mention must be made of Year 11 student Nidu V, who is two years younger than the other three participants. Despite receiving very short notice about the Olympiad and having little to no time to prepare, Nidu rose to the challenge and delivered an impressive performance, earning a Distinction. This remarkable result not only reflects Nidu’s natural aptitude but also their ability to perform under pressure.
