Year 7 Diwali Lantern Workshop

On Tuesday 13th October, we were delighted to welcome our Year 7 students to a vibrant lantern-making workshop in celebration of Diwali, the Festival of Lights. Diwali holds different meanings across cultures and religions, but for many, it commemorates the triumph of light over darkness. It is a tradition for Hindus to light diyas in their homes, symbolising prosperity and divine blessings.

Drawing inspiration from this, we got into the Diwali spirit with the workshop. We began with a short tutorial, and soon the room was buzzing with energy and excited chatter. The students were busy cutting, sticking and decorating their sheets of paper, transforming them into colourful lanterns. Overall, the workshop was a huge success! We all immensely enjoyed ourselves and the lanterns turned out looking fantastic.

Thank you to every student who took part and helped make the workshop so joyful. We are also incredibly grateful to Ms Makinde, Mrs Regan, Mr Supperstone, and our diversity prefects Chloe and Piya, for their time and support in bringing this event to life.
