Key Stage 3
Students will be able to analyse and use information technology effectively, including emerging or unfamiliar tools, to solve a variety of problems. They will become confident, responsible and imaginative users of digital technology and will understand the key principles of computer science, such as algorithmic thinking, data representation and programming. Students will have regular hands-on experience of writing and evaluating programs as part of their problem-solving. They will also develop independence, teamwork skills and an awareness of how to stay safe online.
Key Stage 4
Students will have strengthened their capability, creativity and understanding across areas such as computer science, digital media and information technology. They will be able to apply practical and analytical skills to design solutions, approach challenges logically and use computational thinking in increasingly sophisticated ways. Pupils will also have a secure understanding of how technological developments influence digital safety, including strategies for protecting their privacy and identity online, and will know how to recognise and report potential concerns.
